Livaneli’s new book, “Journey with Elia” has been released!

The world-renowned cinema master and author, the late Elia Kazan, neither felt like an American nor a Greek, but always referred to himself as an Anatolian. He said, what convinced many actors to work with him was, what he called, his irresistible “Anatolian smile”.

However, this ‘Anatolian Smile’ was not enough to save him from being labeled as “a collaborator” during the McCarthy interrogations–a label which he had to carry all his life.

After receiving his third Oscar, Kazan, together with his friend, Omer Zulfu Livaneli, took to the roads of Kayseri, his hometown, like a child running to his mother’s womb or like a Greek tragic hero searching for his Ithaka to escape his past and purify his soul.

You will experience this unusual journey by Livaneli’s magical words and by M.K. Perker’s beautiful drawings.
